Natural Dry Shampoo Recipe

This recipe is super easy and super safe as you can eat the main ingredients. It's pretty easy to tailor to your hair color too. I have dark brown hair so that is the color in the picture.

To achieve the dark brown, I used a combination of Special Dark cocoa, Dutch cocoa along with the cornstarch. It's easier to make lighter colors IMHO. Don't feel like you have to stick strictly to the ratios provided. To make really dark brown or black hair, you will have to go a bit heavier on the cocoas.

Ingredients

1/2 cup corn starch arrowroot powder works too
1/2 cup Special Dark cocoa, Dutch cocoa or cinnamon depending on your hair color
3 drops lavender, rosemary or peppermint essential oil optional

Equipment

1 measuring cup
1 wide mouth jar
1 makeup brush

Method

Scoop cornstarch into your jar.
Scoop in your cocoa and/or cinnamon until you get a color close to yours. It doesn't have to be perfect. It is hard to achieve the darkest browns and blacks.
Put the lid on your jar and shake up your mixture.
Use a makeup brush to apply the powder to your roots.
Give it a few minutes to absorb oil then style as normal.
