Karo Syrup Free Healthier Pecan Pie

This healthier pecan pie is made without corn syrup, refined sugar or white flour. It is naturally sweetened with maple syrup. You can make it with the crust recipe above or, of course, use a premade crust.

Equipment

  • 1 large glass bowl
  • 1 hand mixer
  • 1 spatula
  • 1 fork
  • 1 pie pan

Ingredients
  

  • 1 3/4 cups pecans
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 3 TB melted butter
  • 1 TB vanilla extract
  • dash of cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees (350 if using a glass pan).
  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk eggs, maple syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract and sea salt.
  • Add your pecans then pour into your uncooked pie crust.
  • Bake for approximately 45 minutes or until crust is nice and golden and the middle puffs up a bit.
  • Let the pie cool for about an hour then slice and serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
